Anna Menegatos

My name is Anna, my background since leaving school has been in administration and customer service. My holistic journey started ten years ago, where I had a keen interest in angels and energy healing and how a massage was not just relaxing but bought about a healing as well. I then went on to qualify as an Angelic Reiki Master and in Holistic Massage, combining both modalities to balance the mind, body and spirit. I took the plunge and became a self employed Holistic Therapist offering a wide range of holistic therapies, having a passion for holistic health and wellbeing, treating the body as a whole. I also have a passion for Inch Loss and Detoxification, and have many years experience in performing Non Invasive Lipo and Celluite Massage using natural products. I have recently opened a therapy centre in the centre of Wolverhampton , delivering accredited training courses and 1 to 1 therapies.

Pauline Lim

Initially I qualified as a nurse, before undertaking midwifery training and then moving overseas, to Hong Kong, for a couple of years. I have always tried to employ an holistic approach to care with my patients/clients. A long held an interest in Complementary Therapies, led me to first exploring body massage, qualifying shortly after my son was born around 25 years ago. I subsequently undertook an Aromatherapy course, when my daughter was six weeks old, taking her along with me, she was a very relaxed baby during that time!. Later I studied Reflexology and have now been running a clinic on a part-time basis for almost 20 years, whilst working in my main career as a midwife. I have since taken courses and qualifications in Hopi Ear candling, Shiatsu, Hot Stones and Lava Shells massage and enjoy incorporating these into my therapies depending on my clients needs. I have been working in Higher Education for over 20 years, as a Senior Lecturer with Wolverhampton University, teaching Midwifery as well as a number of other complementary therapy and health related courses/modules. I firmly believe in the importance of integrating complementary therapies within the traditional medical model for the benefit of all those involved. The time is now right for me to be able to increase the time I can spend focussing on my therapies, working with students and helping them to develop their knowledge and skills in order to assist them in their careers.

Michelle Trappett

My name is Michelle and I am the centre manager for the Tamworth branch of Athena School of Natural Therapies. I have always worked in the health care sector and qualified as a Registered Nurse for Sick Children in 2001. From a local Special Needs School Nursing team I progressed to Acorns Children’s Hospice. At the Albert Road Centre in Tamworth we can offer courses and treatments including Lymphatic massage, Deep tissue massage, Pregnancy massage, Hopi ear candles, Hot Stone therapy, Sports massage, Swedish massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Child & Baby Massage, Colour and Crystal Therapy and Reiki. We have two main classroom areas catering for 8 in our larger room and 1 to 1 in our single user classroom. Our meeting room offers an area for discussion over a bite to eat, Parking is conveniently close and we are within a short walk of Tamworth train station as well as major routes such as M1, M42 and M6. There are plenty of hotels and B&B's within walking distance plus we are close to Birmingham and East Midlands airports. I use these therapies every day and see the benefits and joy that positive touch therapies have with children and their families. I strongly believe that complementary and holistic therapies have a place in all health care settings; I have witnessed their major positive impact when used alongside standard medicine and science for both children and adults.

Valerie Coco

A graduate of Wolverhampton University I am a fully qualified holistic therapist and teacher. First qualified as a Holistic and Beauty therapist in 2003 I specialise in Reflexology, Lymph Drainage Reflexology (RLD), Reiki, Swedish Body Massage, Indian Head Massage, the ‘M’ Technique.  I am truly passionate about the benefits of the therapies I practice and teach; my aim being to promote balance in mind and body through holistic therapy.  I work with patients on a part-time basis at a chiropractic clinic in Sutton Coldfield. I also dedicate part of my time as a volunteer therapist at St Giles Hospice in Whittington near Lichfield, where for the last two years I have gained invaluable experience working with MS and cancer patients. This experience has given me the impetus to further my skills by training to be an ‘M’ Technique practitioner; a type of massage which has been specifically devised with cancer patients in mind.  Whilst volunteering at St Giles I have also studied Principles of Dementia and End of Life Care. I became a Reiki Master in 2014 after initially studying this energy therapy in Italy, where I also studied Sacred Geometry. My teaching career spans over 20 years, initially in Italy where I taught English and Art, then back in the UK where I have taught a range of subjects at various colleges throughout the midlands including Birmingham Metropolitan College and more recently Bournville College teaching Swedish Body Massage.

Annemarie Meanock

I began my beauty career immediately after leaving school and progressing over several years, taking many qualifications along the way. After many years studying beauty, my interest in teaching began to build as I have always been keen to share my knowledge and help others. I also worked as a beauty therapist , alongside a return to college part time in order to pursue my passion for hairdressing I combed both to work for two different salons. After working and gaining a lot of my experience in the salon industry, a high demand from mobile clients was growing so I made the decision to take the leap and go it alone and since then have grown my own mobile business with a successful clientele. Time down the line, Debrah found me and opened another path for me in the world of teaching, taking all the training that was necessary allowed me to teach what I love to do. Teaching is the most rewarding job; passing my skills onto students to allow them to pursue their own careers.

Stephanie Day

Hi, My name is Stephanie. I’ve been based in my Cannock Clinic for nearly 2 years now. My background is sports related, after finishing school at the age of 16 with all of my GCSE’s, I moved away from home to pursue a career in horse racing (horses are my second passion). My job had taken me to many a place and I worked for some of the country’s top race horse trainers. My career ended after 9 years when I took a bad fall and broke my back. From then my career path changed, and I become intrigued in peoples injuries and how the body changed after injury. I now run a sports clinic from my centre in Cannock and I specialise in injury and injury prevention.

Helena Underwood

I am the owner of the Bournville Therapy Centre and Centre Manager for Athena School of Complementary Health in Birmingham.  At the Centre, we offer a full range of training for students as well as one off workshops and treatments to the public in a professional, friendly, and comfortable environment. My passion for holistics began many years ago and I now provide an extensive range of therapies as a result of my continuous personal development and training.  This passion has now lead me into teaching, where I strive to give my students the best possible start along their journey into holistic and energy therapies. Our team assist students in whichever modality they wish to learn, over and above the course syllabus in a friendly, professional and sensitive environment, not only teaching important course content but also offering practical advice in how to get started in business as a therapist. As a working mother I understand the challenges we all face day to day, as well as the need for flexibility to suit busy lifestyles and we specialise in a flexible approach to learning for adults who live in the “real world”. I initially retrained in order to help alleviate anxieties suffered by my son who is ASD and now I spent much of my time in helping other parents and children to manage this and other conditions, and disorders, such as MS and cerebral palsy, through various natural healing systems. So should you like to book in for a treatment or decide to retain and join our student network, for a friendly and professional approach, please contact us because we are always here to help.
